My firm recently opened a new branch in the DFW area. We currently do residential work in multiple other Western US states, but are now trying to get into the residential work in TX. We have spoken to a couple of developers, and they have mentioned that their Engineers provide Energy Inspections (HVAC Efficiency, full house blower tests) on top of the typical engineering work and inspections. From our other residential experience, these inspections are provided by other companies/firms, so it is not something we are familiar with doing.
I'm hoping someone on here currently does residential work in TX and can shed some light on whether or not this is typical for the Structural Engineer to provide in TX, or if we just happened to speak to the couple developers that found specialized firms that can provide the energy efficiency inspections?
