Hi,
AS2870 has this requirement for re-entrant corners of raft slab. Do I need to follow this when my raft slab is on piers, which is designed as fully suspended system? I believe this clause is for slab-on-ground only and there is nothing wrong if I don't arrange my piled footing this way since it is designed as suspended, but I am not sure if I violate the code.

If it is pile supported, I don't think you would call it a raft. So, I don't think that Figure would apply.

Thanks.
That's true. I have seen engineers here still call it that way though. That's why I am asking. Everything else including details remain the same except having bored piers under and more reo in slab /beam.

Depends where your piles are located relative to the corners, you may end up needing beams to pickup any cantilever which will end up very similar to those figures anyway?
