Hello All,

I am analyzing a problem, related lifting a weight with a strap from one location to another location.Just want to know what is the effect of stresses in the assembly because of so many cycles.

As per my understanding, want to include residual stresses in the system also.

Can I know the better method to solve and how to calculate residual stress in ABAQUS/CAE?

Thanks in advance,

First you should generate stress in analysis simulating the process that causes this residual stress (like welding, heat treatment, machining or forming) and then include it in the next step using *Initial conditions, type=stress.

You've mentioned cyclic loads. In this case I would consider using direct cyclic procedure featured in Abaqus.
