I need to come up with equipment to fusion weld .006 thick 316L SS. I have two welds to make. One is a long seam in a 28" dia. cylinder with both ends open. The other is round seams of the cylinder to slightly thicker formed heads. The heads will have an acces hole approx. 8" in dia. to allow for a backing of some kind. I am currently working with Jetline on possible options for equipment. Can any one provide additional suggestions on where or who could provide equipment to preform these welds. Thanks in advance.

Some similar welds of stainless in airbag propellant canisters utilized laser welds with great success.

I am familiar with the airbag canister/housings that mcguire mentioned, and I thoroughly agree, laser welding is an excellent joining process for this type of design. I would talk to the various laser welding companies like Nuvonyx, Trumpf, or GSI Lumonics about welding equipment.
