Restart analysis in Abaqus Explicit Error

Hello everyone,

I'm facing the following error when launching a restart analysis in Abaqus Explicit.

*** ABAQUS/package_dp rank 0 encountered a SEGMENTATION FAULT

I have followed the typical procedure:

1. Copy the original model
2. Edit attributes to define the name of the restart file
3. Set the restarting point at the end of the first step
4. Create the job as a restart type job.

I have tried with any change at all from the original model in the restart analysis and the same error keeps appearing. I'm not using any subroutines.

Does anyone have an idea of the root cause of the error?

Which version of Abaqus are you using ? This error may mean a bug but also an issue with the computer.

I'm using Abaqus 2021. Both analysis (original and restart) were launched with the same Abaqus version. In addition, just a month ago I was able to perform a restart analysis following the same procedure, but it is not working anymore.

Can you install a newer version or at least the newest fix pack for Abaqus 2021 ? Did you try running it on another computer ?
