Restrict the range of travel for a component

I have an assembly that when I grab one part, the attached parts follow but the parts that are attached have a "set" range of travel. Inside NX (12) you can just pull the parts past the "max" range of travel with the move component tool.

Is there anyway to set up a boundary so that the parts will stay constrained inside that "min" "max" travel range, but still allow the parts to move freely inside that range using the move component tool?
