When running Design Assessment under ANSYS WB, "Resuming from CAERep" can be very time consuming (a few hours on large FE models).
Firstly, thank you to chris456s which has given the good answer : a very large number of named selections set to "Send to Solver"=Yes is the reason why the CAERep can takes a very long time. The solution is to set "Send to Solver"=No, but only if the named selection does not have to be treated by the design assessment.
From tests performed on large FE models, it appears that the content of the named selections has also an influence on the size of the file CAERep.xml, and consequently on the time of resuming CAERep. A named selection containing a very large number of "objects" (e.g. nodes) can highly increase the resuming time.
I have noted that the number of load steps defined in Static Structural has no influence on the time of CAERep but just on the time of the design assessment itself, that was expected.
In conclusion, the better way to reduce the time of "Resuming from CAERep" on large FE models is to create the named selections which are strictly needed, and to be reasonnable on the number of objects in each one.
If a named selection is without of importance for the design assessment, set it to "Send to Solver"=No.
Finally, I advice you to do some tests on your own FE model in order to well identify the named selections which have the most influence on the CAERep time.
