We are about to move into a new facility and need to run a natural gas line to the building. There was a line that previously ran past the building but it has not been used since the 1980's. I am wondering if we can reuse this existing pipeline and tie into it to run to our building or if we have to lay a new one down.

Thanks

If its downstream of the meter, I would check with the utility. If its upstream of the meter I am unaware of any prohibitions in the International Fuel Gas Code regarding this. However, prudence would dictate a pressure test to confirm integrity if the piping will be modified.
