Hello,

Can we use water that's coming out a water treatmentunit of reverse osmose directly into our steamboiler? Iow is it already demiwater?

RO is usually a component of the water treatment system for a power plant, not the sole water treatment device. Whether water that has passed through a RO unit can be injected into a boiler depends on the water quality required by the boiler pressure rating and the raw supplied to the RO unit.

The RO process typically remove (or rejects) about 90% of the salts present in the raw water.

You didn't mention the boiler's operatin pressure but the residual calcium hardness in the permeate will likely be too high for direct use as boiler feedwater if under 300 psig. If you soften the RO feed, this does not apply. Anything over 300 psig will require ion exchange polishing.

RO permeate will be corrosive so the piping will need to be stainless all the way to the deaerator. The DA will remove the CO2 that makes it corrosive. Just tell the DA supplier that the unit will have to deal with a heavy CO2 load.
