Can anyone help me with design guidelines/calculation info for a shaft reverse screw seal?
Application: Inboard of mechanical seal, end flush with inside of polycondensation PET reactor, one end about 80-160 centipoise, other end about 2000-3000 poise, near vacuum (2mm Hg) in reactor. Screw mainly to keep "drip" and tramp polymer from ingressing along shaft (14") to front of mechanical seal housing. Appears that threads on sleeve rather than shaft easiest to achive for particular application
Thanks!
