Hi,
I’m wondering to buy this book: "Landslides in Practice: Investigation, Analysis, and Remedial/Preventative Options in Soils"
by Derek Cornforth.
If someone has read it please share your impressions.

Haven't read it yet, but if you're looking to buy, I'd suggest contacting the Portland Geotechnical Group of ASCE. They were selling signed copies at less than retail, with Dr. Cornforth (a consultant in Portland) donating all royalties towards their Group. A good deal on the book (signed) and a chance to help out a great group of folks.

I am a geologist, not an engineer. I have access to a copy of this fine text at work, and really enjoy looking through it. It is a most helpful book, and I have seen book reviewers saying that they plan on using this as a primary text for landslide courses. I recommend obtaining a copy if possible.

mdhshanwil, I can not find a link to the book sale that you mentioned. Could you please provide another link, if possible? Thanks.

They're not selling it on-line. It was sold at a recent meeting. I'd recommend contacting one of the officers of the group shown in the above link to inquire whether there are any remaining copies.

I found a few used copies of the book at bookfinder.com for about $66 US. Remember, any book you haven't read is new to you!

Hope this helps.

Thanks to all of you!
I read few reviews for this book and I think that inside is collected all knowledge about landslides. I will buy it with a big pleasure.
Thanks once again.

BigH nice links!
