Revision Table Description Disappears After Check-In

Here is another quirk that just appeared (or I just noticed for the first time). I searched the forum and found a post about the exact same problem that was written in 2005. Unfortunately, the recommendations from that post didn't solve the problem.

So, here's the problem... I'm revising a drawing/model. I create a revision table. I add a revision and fill in the zone, description, and approved fields. Then I go to check the file back into PDM and as soon as I hit the "Check In" button, the description field in the revision table gets cleared out. This isn't a video card thing (I've had instances before where things on the screen disappear, but when I close and reopen they are back). In this case, the text box has been completely cleared out. I have to retype the text and then when I check it back in, I have to choose one of the primary/secondary revisions (A1, A2, etc.) that you all know I love. This time it seems to take without blowing away my revision description.

Any advice?

I'm pretty new to Workgroup PDM also, but, my understanding is: If "Enable Revision Table" is checked under the Revision Table Tab of the Vault Admin, then the info you want to show up in the Rev Table on your drawing needs to be added in the "Notes" column during check-in.

Yes, it's controlled by Workgroup PDM fields. In those cases, the drawing isn't finalized until the check in itself. I'm not fond of this method, but it does save time as long as other functions are in place to utilize it.

I figured that the field was being overwritten by a blank field somewhere. I guess I just made the mistake of assuming that blank field would be named "Description". I'll have to try filling in that "Notes" field today to make sure that it solves the problem.

Thanks for the help.
