Revolved Powercopy info

I am trying to create revolved powercopies for different style ports.

I looked at the ones on CATBlog, but am unable to follow how they were created...or understand what was done.

I am creating a solid block and then creating a revolved port (Material removal). I then following the steps to create the powercopies of just the revolved feature of the catpart.

However, when I place the powercopy, instead of it going into (perpendicular) to the face I want, it goes in parallel...the port is sideways.

Has anyone created these types of powercopies and if so, do you have any step-by-step documentation?

Got it!

Its a little confusing, but you need a point (Isolated), a line through the point and normal to a surface, an axis system and then a "positioned" sketch for the groove (Using the axis system, point and line).

I often found the revolving features cause problems when instantiated, it happened to me more than once using shafts.

Yeah, the positioned sketch is a powerful feature, and if properly used can be very helpful.
