Rice Husk Ash for Concrete

Can anybody here help me on this topic? I need a very reliable source of any research paper, theses or journals regarding this type of addmix to the concrete. What is the ideal temperature of firing, duration and storage to avoid contamination. And also, its optimum replacement level to ordinary Portland cement...

I think there was a professor - of Civil Eng I believe - at the University of Waterloo (in Canada) who worked on this. I cannot remember his name and I tried looking on the website to find something but wasn't successful. If you look around the website a little harder/longer you might have better luck.

There are a number of articles on blended cements and perhaps rice husk ash can be considered as a substitute foor flyash or slag.

I work with cement plants as well as the rice milling industry closely. But I am yet to come across this composite usage in large quantities.

There is a lot of european research on biomass ash, including rice husk ash, inlcuidng its effect on cement and also leaching properties. In gact , there is aneuropean standard on suitability of different ashes on concrete. For a start , see the IEA bioenergy website <
