***WARNING: I am going to need a lot of help with this. Sorry if these questions seem trivial but I am really lost on this one and it should be simple or so I thought...

I am attempting to model a portion of a threaded connection (box and pin) to better understand the stress on the external seal. The external seal is essentially a ball on the pin and as the threaded connection is made up, that ball will seal with an angled piece of the box. The angle is very shallow. I need to determine the stresses, and contact pressures that occur when the box moves from one position two another.

I have the material data, modeled the two parts, and have created 2 datum points in the necessary positions. One datum point is the starting position and the other the ending position. The loads involved are internal and external pressure and tension.

My questions are:

1. Does anyone know of a similar example in abaqus that I can use for support?
2. Is fixing the pin on one end the only necessary boundary condition?
3. The interactions involved are the overlap of the pin ball and the box angle along with some shoulder overlap. Is an interaction property necessary?
4. Should my step(s) be standard or dynamic?
5. How do I show the motion in abaqus?

I will do my best to answer any questions you have. Thanks for your help.
