Rigid body rotation ?

Hello everyone,

I am using Abaqus for an easy compressive test. However, when I check the result, a rigid body rotation appears. I tried to block rotation 4,5,6 of my nodes to avoid this rotation, but these dofs are not active.

Is there a simple way to block a solid body rotation ?

Post a picture of your model with your boundary conditions and loads.

Solid elements do not have rotational degrees of freedom so you need to constrain the transnational degrees of freedom to prevent all 6 rigid body motions. I hope this helps.
