I am using beams with 1000X greater stiffness than my standard beams to model rigid connections. I have not had much success using the "rigid connections" feature in Pro/Mechanica. It won't let me make a rigid connection between a point in space and a surface. It says, "model not restrained properly". So I spider three of my extra-rigid beam elements from my point to three points on the surface. This seems to work fine, but any idea why the rigid conection feature is not working for me?

Thanks!

ParabolicTet,

Did you ever resolve this problem?

From what I've read on the PTC KBase (Suggested Technique for Modeling Rigid Connections) Pro/MECHANICA supports Rigid Connections for 3D models only. This indicates to me that Rigid Connections cannot restraint the rotational DOF of the surface.
