RMA (Remote Alarm Module) ?

Hello,

I am not sure if this is the proper place to post,but I was looking at the drawing schematics of a fire alarm system and I saw in the pump room a RMA (Remote Alarm Module) it seems that the strobe light and alarm bell are connected to it,can somebody explain to me what is a RMA ? and what it does ? I also saw OM and IM,I am guessing they are output module and input module,also I would like some info about them.
