RMS displacement in Nastran

Hello All,

I am trying to plot the RMS displacement for a structure I am working on.
I am using the below output request to get it out of Nastran.
DISPLACEMENT(PLOT,RALL,NORPRINT)=1
Next I am importing the .op2 file in Altair's HyperView and I want to plot the RMS displacement, but it is not there. It only contains the results of the 1g sine analysis which is done prior to the random analysis.
The same deck works just fine for retriving the RMS stress by using STRESS(PLOT,CRMS,NORPRINT)=ALL.
Is this a post-processor (HyperView) issue or I am missing something?

Hello,

I have tried to load the displacement CRMS in HyperView with a model I have been working recently and it does not appear, as you said. I was obtaining the VM stresses, so I did not output the displacement results.

It seems to be a problem of HyperView, because the displacement RMS can be seen in the punch file (attached image), so maybe you can use this way. I really do not know much about HyperView postprocessing random analyses because I have been postprocessing these results with Patran, but I am trying to understand how HyperView works with the random data from Nastran.

If you finally overcome this problem with HyperView, please explain how.

I hope it helps.

Thank you! I think it is a limitation Hyperview has related to this.
