Hi, I made a laboratory test stabilization with lime, but my plasticity index increased, can someone tell me why this could happen?. I use slaked lime or hydrated lime. Thanks

It cant increase based on soil/lime chemistry. Your Plastic limit increases but your PI should reduce not increase

Well, that is exactily my problem and question, the plasticity index increase,not the other way around.....

I would send your CLAY to a few different labs to check, its minerology and parameters. I woudl ask them to do a mix lime and then redo atterbergs. I would do to the lab and witness the test yourself also. Something weird is going on

Does the soil have a large sulfate (could be as gypsum) content??

Even that shouldnt make a difference emm.
