Rock Testing

For 3/4" base course rock under pavement, is there a rock test that is done before the rock arives at the site and is placed?

sure. There are also independent tests that laboratories do to figure out if the material supplier is correct.

Grain-size distribution.
Moisture-density relations.
L.A. abrasion.
Specific gravity.

Some that come to mind. Not that they're all routinely done for every project.
