I am currently designing roof trusses for a house. The garage is actually about 44" below the house height. The garage has a 3rd car stall. These trusses run perpendicular to the house. Essentially, they will need to be hung on something to get the girder in the right position to support the trusses over the 2 car side. My thought is to mount an LVL to the house/garage wall using Simpson SDS screws into each stud. Is there a calculation to determine how many screws based on the loading from the 3rd car trusses?

Thank you.

You need to pocket that girder truss in the wall and support on studs. No way a ledger is holding that.
