Roof Waterproofing with RCC upstand 1

Hi all,
We already cast the RCC roof slab and now we want to make an upstand at the Roof. Please suggest that having Roof waterproofing (Combo System) prior to cast the upstand will be better or it should be after casting the upstand. As my Consultant is insisting to do waterproofing after casting, but we want to do it before, as it will be much easier to do that.
If I will get any reference from the COde then it will easier for me to convenience the consultant

Your consultant is correct, if the upstand is made of concrete, which is to be rigidly connected to the concrete roof. You shall do the roofing later with flashing around the stand.

Agree with retired13....When it comes time to re-roof the area, it will be done with flashing. Further, the stability of the parapet will be a question if you install over the roofing material. Listen to your consultant.

Add another to the cast first group. Your waterproofing should lap up the side of the upstand.
