Dear all,
I am working on modelling of rotary lip seal and I am interested in investigating the effect of the garter spring load on the elastomeric ring geometry. I have considered using an axisymetric model to start with, but since I am new to Abaqus, I am struggling with the problems highlighted below:
1) how to make assemble and also make a coincident point constraint of the round garter spring and the elastomeric ring together, considering that they are both axisymetric
2) how to impose the garter spring tension load on the elastomeric ring geometry.
Any comment/suggestions are welcomed.
