Hi,

How could I rotate a 3D view at a certain degree value? (rotate the view, not the geometry)..........
Attached is a CATPart of a file, given as a sample.
The picture below shows how I would like to orient the view:

use the compass axis system (top right corner) snap it to your body, klick on the u,v,w letters (x,y,z counterparts in local system)

LWolf,

Using the compass will move the geometry; I do not want that!

sorry, missed one step... let go of the compass, but make sure it has the uvw retained, i.e do not drop it onto the bottom-corner-right point...

LWolf,

I hate to loose your lesson, but I didn't understand your directions......
Is it possible to send me a step-by-step procedure?
Thanks a lot! [dazed]

take the compass, place it on your solid. Notice that now the xyz have switched to uvw i.e local reference system based on your solid.
take the compass, and release it anywhere in 3D (anywhere BUT the low-right-corner...). the compass should fly back to its original position HOWEVER notice that it has retained uvw orientations...
you can now click on these letters (u,v,w) to rotate your CAD space.
To reset the compass back to global (x,y,z) coordinates, (there are several ways to achieve this) drop it onto the global axis located in the low-right-hand-corner.

LWolf
