Rotate Assembly about an Axis

All,
I can't figure out how to rotate (graphically) my top level assembly about an axis. I tried seaching past threads and SW help. Basically I want to rotate my "Isometric" icon along the "y" axis 180 degress, again graphically. No parts, just the hole ball of wax. I created and axis manually and selecting it, then tried the "alt", "ctrl" and "arrow" keys move it about the "y" axis and nothe worked. I also tried "move triad" but doesn't work on my top assembly.

I bet ya I'm gonna feel really dumb after I get some answers.

Do you mean the true Y axis or the Y axis acording to your screen's current view?

I did this in an animation by creating an axis about which to rotate my assembly (true Y axis). I selected the Y axis as the thing about which the assembly rotated for the animation.

One thing to keep in mind--by default, your assembly will have a fixed part (first part in tree). This means you can rotate nothing. The easy way around this is to insert your current assembly into a new assembly and set it to float. Constrain the axes or whatever mates you want to allow your Y-axis rotation. Works for animation or otherwise.

Although it is the default, you don't have to have the first part "fixed". Providing all the other parts are mated only to the first or subsequent parts, you should be able to Float the first part in the existing assy, then add constrained or "flexible" mates to suit.
