Hi,

I have already posted this in the Finite Element Analysis engineering Forum.

I have a doubt regarding using CONNECTOR STOP with
ROTATION type connector element. Can it have connector
stops in 3 rotation directions like CARDAN or only in
any one direction ?

Because for ROTATION it was written in the summary

Øi and not Ø1 Ø2 Ø3 like in CARDAN or EULER.

And when we combine two basic connector types like
JOIN and ROTATION for the connector element JOIN
doesn´t have CONNECTOR STOP, but ROTATION has. So, is
it a problem if we assign connector stop for this
connector element ?

Thanking you,
Nagananda Krishna

Combining JOIN with ROTATION should give no problems, since JOIN has no CORMS available.

Using ABAQUS/CAE, a Connector Section (note new name for V6.6!) defined in the Interaction Module, you can define the JOIN-ROTATION type and then specify the Stop behavior. You have a couple of options for this:

1. Add a Stop behavior and then tick all the checkboxes for components and finally provide common lower/upper bounds.

or,

2. Add a separate Stop behavior for each component. In the case for JOIN-ROTATION you could conceivably have 3 sepoarate Stop behaviors, one for each UR1, UR2 and UR3.

Hope this helps!
