Does anyone have any suggestions how we could do this since there does not seem to be any relays available that can operate on a 1200VDC generator exciter field?

"We are looking for Generator Rotor Earth Fault Protection to operate on a 1200VDC generator exciter field. From our searches we find that most manufacturers are limited to around 600VDC. Does anyone know of a relay product that can meet these specifications??"

Thanks in advance, Travis

Call Chuck Mozina at Beckwith Electric. The standard 3425 relay is only rated for 600 volts DC, but Beckwith does a lot of custom designs and the price is usually not unreasonable. I'm sure they could come up with a design for 1200 volts.

Suggestion: Earth fault monitoring may also be considered.

ABB can do it. Contact Manmadhan at ABB in Coral Springs.
I can help also.
