Hello,

I'm preparing a budget cost for a test stand and I'm after a very rough cost/m^3 of reinforced concrete. I know the cost varies a lot with the amount of reinforcement and shuttering required (and a host of other factors that a mechanical engineer can't even comprehend) but if anyone can give me a very rough ballpark figure for an installed cost (ie. not just materials) then it would be much appreciated. Thanks for your time,

Pete

Where are you? that's one more variable (I can give you the price in Malaysia if you want)

Scotland, England, Wales or Northern Ireland??

how big is the project?
is the concrete part of a larger project?
light or heavy reinforcement?
site conditions?
dimensions of the slab?
any walls or just slab?
forming requirements?
finishing requirements?
concrete strength requirements?
anchors or embedments?
is excavation / subgrade preparation included?

$400 - $800US or higher

Well, 5' wide, 4" thick sidewalk with wire mesh runs about $20/ foot around here, in the southeast U.S.
That works out to about $400 per cubic meter.
I would think costs would generally be much higher than that, since a sidewalk is about the easiest thing I can think of to form and pour.

The size of the project is also a key variable. Also, is this flat work or work with detailed forms?
