Hello all,

Did anybody have the chance to use any of Roxtec ( sealing systems/modules?
From their web site, the seal modules look neat and clean, but I'm not sure how efficient and robust are they.

I'm designing a bulkhead interface, through which I'm running cooling lines and electrical cables and I'd like to get some feedback before I go and buy the stuff.

Thanks,
Salman

Looks kind of neat.

Seems like you would need to implement some production controls and training on their use to make sure the sizing is correct every time.

Too small an opening and you risk cold-flow of cable insulation, or crimping of fluid lines.

Too big and they neither seal nor support.

I have used these systems many times in the construction of large ships. They are robust and easy to install. I thing that they are also approved by all the major Classification societies for use in A60 divisions (as defined by SOLAS). Passenger ships use them in their water tight bulk heads below the water line as they can be opened to fit extra passes and will reliably close and seal again. I do not know of anyone who has anything bad to say about them except that they are a little expensive.
