Can some one kindly explain to me on acceptance criteria for rounded indications...
ASME B31.3 refers us to ASME VIII appendix 4 which says under note (4) 1⁄16 in. for t greater than 2 in. (50 mm)
(c) Maximum Size of Rounded Indication. (See
Table 4-1 for examples.) The maximum permissible size
of any indication shall be 1⁄4t, or 5⁄32 in. (4 mm), whichever
is smaller.

is the table 4-1 supose to be used for maximum pore allowed?

we had an argument about this with the client.

Regards

Table 4-1 is to be used to determine the maximum pore size. It should be used in conjunction with the figures that follow to determine if your pores are to be considered scattered or isolated and with 4-3(d) to determine if they are to be considered aligned.

I would bring it in front of a experienced level II OR III with good equipment. I have been mistaken several times but resolved the issues with expert opinions.
