Hey... I work at a small company, and we are still learning the details of getting parts certified. Hopefully this is a pretty simple question... Trying to figure out what's important and what's not.

RTCA DO-160G. Important? I mostly deal with equipment on US military aircraft, some foreign. Is this the bible of environmental testing? How does this compare to MIL-STD-810 ?

Thanks

If you need an FAA TSO or an STC to sell the product, you should probably look at compliance with DO-160.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice however, experience suggests that in practice, there is!

If you are dealing with U.S Military, there are more Mil-Specs than you can shake a stick at. You need to find what specifications your customer is going to hold you accountable. If you are dealing with FAA certification, there are a totally different specifications that you will be dealing with. Sometimes they are comperable, and sometimes they aren't. Get to know your customer and figure out what your customer wants.
