rubber to metal - permanent adhesive required? 1

Please could someone recommend a rubber to metal adhesive? The rubber molding has split away from the metal, so the stronger the adhesive the better! permanent if possible.

The split can be compressed with the aid of a vice which should help things!

Thanks for your reply to my problem.

I did not manufacture this mounting and I have not attempted to repair the mounting. I am just after a suitable product that will make a permanent repair.
 
You might try an adhesive such as Rema Tip Top SC2000 cold vulcanizing adhesive.
We’ve used this material in our plant for bonding cured rubber, and it provides a decent bond after 2-3 hours, full bond maybe after 16-24 hours. I haven't used the material myself, but people that do use it think it's pretty good.

Tom, the photograph looks to me like the rubber has torn due to flex fatigue. if that is the case, there is no point in making a repair and a replacement unit is necessary.
