Hi ,
I have two questions:
First question: are Full-face gasket and flat-face gasket synonyms ???
Second question: Can i use Appnedix 2 ( ASME VIII , div 1) for bolted flange connections with full-face gasket ?? if i can't then which paragraph or appendix should i use.??
Thank you in advance

1. No, a full face gasket means that the gasket extends beyond the bolt circle all the way to the OD of the flange. A flat face gasket is also unconfined but normally stops short of the flange bolt circle, just like a conventional gasket

2. No, Appendix 2 does not include rules for full-face gaskets. Taylor Forge bulletin 45 "Design of Flanges for Full Face Gasket" is one reference you can use.
