Many years ago on tomorrows world there was an item about a new device that enabled a safety line attached to a person about 2mtrs long to run along a taught wire rope to provide a safe working situation.
The clever bit was that when the line came to an eye bolt for support somehow or other this gadget enabled it pass from one side of the fixing to the other without loss of contact.
