Hello All,
I am novice on working on the EN 10025-4 S 460 M thermomechanically rolled material used to make penstock pipe for hydro power. The material thickness ranges from 28 mm to highest 46 mm of 2.5 m length of one 1 pipe and 2.5 m diameter. As per their carbon percent is 0.074 with making carbon equivalence 0.391.
The material yield is max 545 and min 509 MPA and Ultimate tensile being 669 MPA.
Shall i consider for PWHT for this kind of material as it has carbon content and carbon equivalence very low? But considering the thickness it seems to take PWHT . I am considering for the pre heat as only to remove moisture from the joint.
the welding is of double V butt welded.
Any suggestions or previous experience with this kind of material is highly appreciated .
