Referring to 2015 Eds. of Sec VIII, Div 1 & Sec II, Part D:

Table UHA-23 lists both SA-240 and SA-789 of UNS 32101, while Sec II, Part D, Table 1A lists SA-240, but not SA-789.

What gives?

TIA,

Mike

Is there a Code Case still active for this material?

metengr, no idea. Question came up related to an inquiry, I was just looking in the big books to confirm / deny use of the material :)

Regards,

Mike

I am away from my code books at the moment. I would check first to determine if there is an active code case for use of this material specification.

metengr, I'll give it a go...

Finding a reference to CC 2418-2 from 6-23-14, but no copy at hand...

I've found the following CC's in the 2015 edt; 2620-2, 2603-1 and 2418-2.

DVWE, thanks for that :) It appears to me that only 2418 applies to Sec VIII, Div 1 while 2603 & 2620 apply to Sec IV. If I am reading correctly in 2015 Sup 2.

Still, my original question remains: What's up with the Code books?

Regards,

Mike

Material that is produced to several specific product specifications can have different allowable stress values and service limits. Since you have several code cases that are active and have not been incorporated, you will have missing data in Part D until such time of incorporation or annulment of the code cases.

Just seems odd to me that SA-789 S32101 appears in Table UHA-23, but not Sec II-D. I'm not too familiar with the practices when Code Cases are involved, maybe this is not unusual.

Thanks again to all.

Mike
