Hey Everyone:

I am looking at an old layered A.O. Smith vessel that has SA-225 grade B heads. The only info I have is they had a yield strength call out of 43,000 psi. The year it was constructed was 1959. Anyways, hear are my questions:

1) Does anyone have the only material call outs for this grade?

2) Where (if any) is the best place to get the old versions of the ASME code, be it free or not?

3) Is there any resource out there that lists the Critical stress intensity factors for a wide variety of materials? SO far the only place I have really had much luck is the appendix G of NASGRO, but the selection is quite limited.

Thanks everyone!!

Jason

Thanks for the help!! So I assume that means the ultimate is 75,000?

SA 225 Gr B has a minimum spec. tensile of 75,000 psi.
Gr A is 70,000 psi
