tonyjosephpaul;
Your question is too broad for help. Can you provide additional background information related to this project?

ASTM A 240 applies to many stainless alloy grades such as types 304, 309, 310, 316, 317, 321, 347, 348, 31254, 31803, 32750, 32760 etc.

Search the web for alloys by these ASTM types. You can also use UNS numbers. Search for UNS and each example such as 316 for a generic number. "SA" applies the ASTM "A" number for ASME specifications. Also search ASTMinternational.org for an ASM international ready reference titled thermal properties of metals #06602G or the ASTM alloy index.

Type 316 stainless steel and many other alloys are common for fluids in the hydrocarbon processing industry. Each fluid must be checked for material compatibility. Perhaps it should be each material needs to be checked for compatibility for the fluid. This applies to metals and elastomers.
