Dear all of gentleman group

I got a problem when I designed for saddle by compress because my client required as per below:

"Saddle shall be designed for transit condition, until final figures are confirmed the accelerations in terms of g(g=9.81 m/s^) are as follows(Longitudinal +/- 0.28g)(Transversal +/-0.49g) (Vertical +/- 1.4g)"

I cannot find to input by compress. Please advice to me if you have any suggest.

Thanks.

baonguyen,

You have to do some old fashion hand calculations to calculate the longitudinal and lateral loads and then apply the loads to the saddles. Force =mass x acceleration. Refer to Dennis Moss book, it has the calulations to lead you through this.

baonguyen,

PV Elite software for design of pressure vessels has this input as G loads under seismic loads.

I'd answer, but apparently it was not adressed to me.

(grin).
