It says in the documentation that if you specify a rectangular beam then T-beam action will automatically be accounted for, and that if you specify a T-beam then the flanges will be ignored when overlapping the slab etc.
Based on this I thought that I should get the same answers for beam forces regardless of whether or not I specify a T-beam, however this is not the case. When a T-beam is specified it always picks up more load. I might be missing something but
what is the proper method for inputting beams?
Also when a beam is wide (say 1200) should the beam be converted to a slab area? If so then how is T-beam action taken into account?
