Did you already try it? I'm wondering about right procedure for calculating real displacements (nonlinear-cracked analysis)? Any suggestions?

Our IT is updating the version yet. I havent tried but just saw the presentation and it gave me good impression.

I have never used SAFE before...presentations gave me good impression also, espacially CAD-import and P/T one! But I can't find any good help in previously mentioned Nonlinear-Cracked Analysis? If you find something or you already know, please let me know...thanx!

We are using SAFE v12 in our office as for our new project. I agree to both of you. The graphics and the contents are all great. However, I am new in using CSI products that is why I am still in learning and experimenting stage.

Have you used older versions of safe? How to check local bearing and global bearing? I am confused, the option "stress midsurface, top face & bottom face" appears.

What is the ideal mesh of slabs for safe? I have experimented a simple slab with a support. I have 2 models the other one is with finer mesh compared to other. I found stresses different. Why is that?

From my experience meshing should be at 48in max and segments should be as square as possible. The finer the mesh the more accurate the results but greatly increases the run time. The reason for the different stress is that between mesh points the values are estimated so if your mesh is too large you miss the high and low values between mesh points. Also i have just spent some time calculating deflections with the new version. See the recent thread i started for more.
