Hi all , what is the main difference between ETABS analysis and SAFE in calculating column reactions? specially when we have planted columns and we can either export the loads from floor above ( from ETABS) or from the SAFE model of the above floor ... by trail SAFE reactions were twice those from ETABS

In Etabs reaction out at column is based on loads from all floors.
Since for export to Safe only single floor can be worked out, and on using option of floor loads only ( this is the valid option for the design of the floor), the reaction at column would be for the loads on the floor only. Further to simulate the effect of deformation stress due to column, the height of column should be from the floor level to footing level as per complete model in Etabs or actual..
