Hi Everyone,

First time posting but appreciate all advice I have found on these forums.

We are currently developing a primary substation extension design for a 132 kV yard. As a result of the proposed layout, the majority of the new 132kV plan can be constructed while the existing plant remains energised. One of the key financial drivers to the design is minimizing the amount of outage required on the existing 132 kV area during construction of the new. Optimizing this will be highly dependent on the required clearance from the energised area. During construction, I expect a temporary fence or insulated barrier would be installed x metres away from the live bus to facilitate safe works.

Was wondering if anyone was aware of the requirement or mention within standard or state legislation (South Aus) for this working clearance. The safety section clearance requirement is 3.87m, but unsure if this could be reduced to an 'approach distance' of sorts for authorized and trained persons

Cheers

CR-I think you need to maybe take a screenshot or use windows snipping tool to capture screenshot then save as jpg file. I believe then you can upload.

Thanks for the suggestion, O Thermionic 1!

Here's a chart showing what we do in parts of Ontario, Canada:

You should be able to apply these values in Australia by inverting the numbers... [ groan ]

Use <Win><Shift><S> to creat the snapshot... pick the area you want... click 'Image' above and paste the snapshot in the space 'Drop file here'... see if this works...
