Does anyone know where I can get relief valves tested? A client of ours doesn't feel like changing their relief valves every five years, they just want to test them. Is there a place where these tests can be run? Also, does every relief valve in the system need to be tested, or is a certain percentage of the valves sufficient?

Since I have responded to you before, I assume you are dealing with an Ammonia system where the 5 year replacement rules apply. National Board certified VR shops can test and tag. Some OEMs will recertify their valves. Common practice is replacement, though. Often testing costs nearly as much as the valves, and they need to be removed for a period of time. As far as I know, it is required of all the valves. Also, check with your relief valve manufacturer as to the interval which they recommend the valve be replaced. The rule is 5 years or manufacturer recommendation.
