Info For question 1 and 2

I'm working to design and make a layout of a new mining concentrating facility plant. They use some (2 over let say 10 ) hazardous chemical to concentrate the metal by flotation and chemical reaction. These chemical reagents are located in a separate room of the '' process '' room. The products are fed to the process by pumps. In the process they are of course diluted and note PURE as in the storage rooms
here are my questions

Q-1 Do we have to install sprinkler near equipment like pump tanks etc. Give me the appropriate code to look in. Actually the insurance company seems to get crazy and ask for more and more fire protection

Q-2 In the same way of thought as above the obliged the company on an old plant to shoot isolation foam all over electrical cable ( teck type ) the teck is supported in an open tray. Would a closed tray do the job? Is it necessary even in the electrical room which is separated from the process by a wall ?

Q-3 I think I probably can classify the '' storage room '' and the process room differently am I right ?

Q-4 Have to locate a fuel tank outside and give the safe distance to building , to a transfo and an aerian high voltage line. What are the applicable code ???

Q-5 Have to locate huge exterior glycol heat exchanger what is the code governing it( minimum distance and so on )

Q-5 Have to locate a fuel generator inside a building what is the applicable code NFPA ?

Just some hints, but you should not rely only on my commets since I´m not an expert in facilities like those you mention and I´m sure there should be more specific requirements.

Q1. There can be a local requirement to sprinkler all the area, but there are also cases where you can install sprinklers for specific areas. In such case the sprinklers most commonly used are called automatic nozzles which differ from an automatic sprinkler in which the nozzles inpinge in a specific pattern relative to the surface to protect. A deluge system can also be considered, look for NFPA 15, 13.

Q2. The degree and type of fire protection for cables is a complicated matter, basically you should protect at least the area near the penetration (wall hole), to prevent fire spread from one area to another, but insurance companies varies a lot their criteria, and you have to follow their requirements.

Q3 and Q4. Look in NFPA 30 and local codes. Also IEEE codes and local electric companies might help.

Q5. No idea.

Q6. Look in NFPA 37 for requirements of electric generators powered by fuel.
