Sanitary Pump Station

There is an existing sanitary pump station on site that has gravity feed from two smaller building and a 3" force main from it. We have a proposed sanitary system collecting sewage from 10 smaller facilities. We want to gravity drain to the existing pump station. What type of issues need to be looked at to tell if this is feasible?

We also might need to put a new pump station in on our site and connect to that existing 3" line. IS that normally feasible?

My expertise is in another area so any help would be welcome

First, you need to find out who owns the pump station. Then the pump size and capacity. Then what the volume of flow from your facilities. Then call an engineer well versed in sanitary pump stations and water lines.

Often good sanitary pump companies, usually the ones also offering maintaining and overhauling pump service, will have information on some of the data and usual practise and soulutions you are looking for.

There also exist companies supplying general solutions for sewage collection from several smaller units with or without pumping from the units to collecting tank with seperate pumping from the tank.

In Scandinavia a typical solution will be collecting from spread holiday/mountain homes or year around family homes, with largely varying amounts over time and under very varying climatic conditions(freezing down to to 30 deg C minus up to 30 deg C plus climatic, with snow rain and tawing periodes).

My advice echoes dicksewerrat's, with the additional advice to have a look at complete, existing solutions available from commercial companies before any further action is taken.

The practical problems are many and needs an expert, but yes, technical solutions do exist, but might require total renewal and reconstruction.
