Hi everyone!

I am new to SAP2000 and i was wondering how can i model a cable in a way that, after the dead load (self weight) i need to have a point load, and then calculate my new catenary with that live load, i tried to watch some youtube guides, but i coundn't find any that represents that extra live load in the catenary.

Thanks in advance!

Yes you can use a cable element and apply uniform cable load in that in order to get its catenary deformation. The load is defined in the same form where cable geometry is configured.
