I am modelling a 2-D Frame with only gravity loads on it. I assigned different sections and analysed the frame. It shows me that moments are generated about minor axis also. Similarly in design, d/c ratio cannot be satisfied due to high moments about minor axis. Due to this, it also shows section overstressed in check of design. Does anyone know the solution to this issue?
Let me clarify that it is a 2D frame and hence there are no external moments or eccentricities in about third axis in my model. Also it is a frame with both moment and simple conncetions in it. So I have already used release partial fixity command for simple connection. I do njot understand from where does the minor axis moments pop up.

You are the culprit.

Your model is 2-D but your analysis is 3-D. Check the analysis settings and set them to 2-D.

If this works, then read the analysis manually carefully before modeling. Or attend a short course. Trust me I am older than you.

Yes. Older people are always correct. Especially when the subject is Match or Science. ;)
