Hi
starting to use the check/design facility of SAP2000 rel 14 I noticed problems with interaction coefficients used in the EC3 2005 Bending, Compression, and Buckling Check formulas (EC3 6.3.3(4)) that refer to the ANNEX A
It appears that values kyy, kzz, kyz, and kzy, named "interaction factors" achieve values very high (as those arising from overflows !!) thus leading to completely absurd result in that check
Have you noticed anything about that ?
EC3 gives in the aforementioned ANNEX very complicate expressions to compute those coefficients, taking more than 1 page as collegues dealing with EC certainly, and sadly, know
Before starting to compute by hand those numbers in order to check SAP2000 results and detecting problems, I would like to receive feedbacks
I can examine inside my model, 2 frames of equal length, equal compressive axial load, equal boundary conditions, forced =0 major axis moment and minor axis moment small and slightly different (between the two frames), the first beam is simply verified, the second one is heavily overstressed: the interaction coefficients of the second are overflown and so the check ratios
If I will get some answer from this forum I could also put numbers of a "selected" part of my results
Thanks for your attention
